Does anyone know anything about the Nippon Denso Distibutor used on the Hiace 1.6 petrol?
It is the sort with a thumbwheel for fine tuning the advance and retard. I removed it because the mechanical advance did not appear to be working. There was hardly any movement on the cam so I suspected the bobweights had rusted solid. It looks like the vacuum advance bit needs to be removed before the points plate can be lifted off but I can't tell how it's attached.
