Just bought my first ever Toyota, a 94 Hiace LH129V 2.8 5sp man 4WD hitop campervan (imported Japanese model, conversion by Annex).

I am interested in seeing the differences and similarities between the LH model Hiaces. This would be a great help when tracking down spare parts. As far as I can assertain, the only LH models sold in Australia were 103, 113 & 125 (no 4WD models).

Does anyone know the differences between the LH129 and LH125? This would be a good start.

I've got an LH129V. It's an auto :(

They are VERY hard to find in 5 speed manual. Most imports from Japan seem to be autos.

Mine is also 4WD with selectable HI/LOW ratio.

The body style is what Toyota refer to as the "jumbo". It has the high roof as well as the extra long body (compared to the LWB version). This is achieved
with an extra panel just behind the sliding door on the passenger's side which has a small rectangular window with round ends in it.

I have no problems getting parts for mine here in New Zealand, despite the fact they have never been sold here as a NZ model.

Your local Toyota dealer should be able to source whatever you need. Some parts may have to be ordered in from Japan but they are normally very efficient.

I think the LH125 is the short wheel base version. The running gear will be identical, and most other parts should be the same as well.
