Hello

I just imported a 1994 hiace 2.8 diesel 2WD with reimo hitop camper conversion from japan.

It has a hookup on the side with 3 round pins. The plastic end of the lead says 240V, but wikipeadia tells me that japan operates on 100V.

I've never owned a camper or examined a hookup before, can anyone help me out?

Cheers
reimo

You are indeed correct. Japan operates on 100V.

The socket you are looking at is probably RATED to 240 volts, but the installation in your camper will be for 100 volt operation.

It will be a simple job for an electrician to reconfigure everything to work on 240 volts for you. I suspect there isn't that much hooked up to the actual mains input, but best you get it checked before you plug in to 240.

Cheers!
