Hiace Steer, steering problems when rainy

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 2 Joined: 26-December 07 Member No.: 8,279 Drives: Toyota hiace Location: Malta E	My hiace steering wheel gets to be very hard to turn and is also kind of jumpy. does anyone know what the problem is? or what the fault is? thanks

Full Member Group: Members Posts: 183 Joined: 1-August 07 Member No.: 5,996 Drives: 1994 Hiace Jumbo 4X4 2.8L Diesel & 1994 Caldina 2.0L Diesel Location: New Zealand	Yes, the power steering belt is getting wet when it rains (water thrown up from the road underneath the engine) and it is slipping. Get a new belt fitted and get it tensioned up correctly. It will solve the problem.
