Hello to the HIACE world ...
I am looking for a fuel efficient truck and came across a 1991 Toyota Hiace pickup, with a 1.9L gas (petrol)engine, 5 speed manual. I see from previous posts that the larger diesel engines average only about 23 mpg or 10L/100km. Can folks give me some idea of what to expect for gas consumption from this truck, which has only about 40,000 km?
Also, as I am in Canada, I would appreciate any insight people can share about access to parts and filters for such a rig. Local parts dealers seem to say they cannot offer anything? Do parts from other North American Toyotas fit these HIACE engines?
Any insights appreciated!
Cheers, Neil
