HI everyone - can anybody help me? My father-in-law has a G reg Toyota Hiace and on the dashboard an orange light has appeared and the symbol looks like a radiator with a drip coming out of it? Any ideas of what it's telling him please?

Much appreciated

Radiator? Are you sure its not an oil can? If so, it could be telling you that the oil is low.
You wouldnt think that it would have a sensor for the coolant level being low and the high temp light usually is a thermometer with 2 wavy lines that are supposed to symbolize water.

Hi Bakermoo

Thanks for that. It's definitely not the oil can warning. Will pass on your advice. Thanks again.

I think you will find it is the fuel filter warning lamp.

I've posted one very similar which will give you an idea.

It's to tell you that the level of water (and contaminants) in the bottom of the diesel fuel filter (the one in the engine bay) is at maximum and that it's time to change the filter.

The sensor screws off the bottom and the filter itself unscrews from the housing.

HI

I have same problem and it's not the symbol posted. It's definitely an orange light similar to a radiator and it is not the symbol posted by Hiace4x4.

Anyone else have any ideas?

It indicates that the radiator fluid is low. Check the reservoir. IIRC there is another one towards the rear of the vehicle somewhere?

Yes, I remember now. It signifies the radiator and the drip indicates water - the symbol is to tell you that
the radiator is low on water.
