Hello
Does anyone have any advice regarding towbar wiring for 2006 Hiace. Have checked the wiring at the rear lights but is very light gauge. It dissapears into the main harness but the wires change colour. Does anyone have a wiring diagram?? Any help appreciated Thanks

Yes, the wiring is very light gauge in the cars these days, but it still handles the current adequately.

You can just tap off each wire that feeds the appropriate lamp and run these out to your trailer socket. Don't forget to provide a ground connection in the socket. Relying on the towball/coupling to provide the earth doesn't work.

If you use LED lighting on the trailer, your current draw will be very low and not be an issue.
