I have a '69 Corona with a rear axle from a 1993 Toyota 2WD pickup. The axle has been shortened with custom axles etc. by the previous owner. It has 3.55 gears in it. With the tiny tires on the Corona, I would like to get higher gearing such as in the 2.7:1 range. I am told that this axle is a popular choice for the tuner crowd to put into older RWD cars, but I can't find any vendor to supply anything numerically lower than 3.55:1. Does anyone know of a stock application that came with highway gears or does anyone know of a vendor that carries something higher? Thanks.
