Well, today was the big day I had been putting of for so so long, I took my HiAce to be registered
into Sweden after her British road worthy test running out (not nice, now I will have to actually pay
my parking fines :-( ) Anyways, failed due to a couple of bolts that hold the seats in place were not
properly mounted (done now). He didnt like the way the new side repeaters "blinked", he didnt think they were strong enough or the likes, but he had to let it go as they were "E" marked but he made a little song and dance about it. Anyways, here is the main question today, just how strong is the engine in a 3.0L Turbo
from 1995? he looked it up and decided it was 99HP which is great for insurance, but it feels a bit sharper than 99hp under my right foot, am I wrong here?

Yes, you're right. It's 95.62 KW, or 128 hp!

Ah, sounds good to me, well, all final checks now done and she will get Swedish plates on Tuesday, shame really, I rather enjoyed parking for free, still, all things must come to an end I guess.

Many thanks, though how you found that place is beyond me, talk about one more click..... :-)
I know have it on paper. I may have to re-register her soon though, the road tax as a seven seater is about $1300 US per year, if i put in a divider and move the triple seat forward of it making it a five seater with 1.7m behind the wall is falls to less that $400 US, now where the reason behind it is,,, well, beyond me at least. Still, gives me more place for the beer on beer runs down to Germany I guess :-)

Older diesels don't produce much power, and the 1KZ-TE is no exception. They get their performance from torque.

Is this a real Hiace you have? (Real Hiaces are forward-control, H10, H20, H60, H100 and H200 series, the latter being the current model introduced in 2005).

If it is front-engined, then it's not a Hiace (never mind what badgees it's wearing), but an XH43 Regius/HC40 Granvia (or "Touring Hiace"... these three are identical apart from nose treatment, though I suspect that the Regius is a narrow-bodied version; Toyota makes a number of models in two widths). The Swedish-market "Hiace" is a Regius or Granvia, supposedly with a longer wheelbase than the Japanese-market examples, which are all short. I haven't actually seen an image of a Euro-market 1990s "Hiace" but sent an image to someone in Sweden, who agreed that that was what they got. Dunno about England... they certainly got the H20 series, I saw a black one in some cop program once. Both the 100-series Hiace and the Regius family were available with the 1KZ-T, though the current Hiace has a totally different (DOHC) 2.5 1KD-FTV or 3.02KD-FTV.

Anyone have an image of a front-engined Euro "Hiace"?

Andrew, Dunedin, New Zealand, where all of these are everywhere.

Please note - kilowatts is 'kW' - and kWh is kilowatt-hours which is the measure of energy used in one hour.
