I saw the model that Shell created to improve gas usage and combination with electrical system. Of course a car that can't be use by reagular people, too small, too uncomdortable and not enough to get into trafic... but it used only 1 liter of gas for 5300 Kilometers!
I hope somehow, that if we can get a 10 percent of that usage, we will improve the driving experiences and specially, reduce the fumes that are killing our environment. I can't wait until something like that becomes a reality.
What do you think? Is it possible? Feasible? Available? Can you imagine a city like The Jetsons lived in, where the cars fly and they are all electric powered?

Here in my Province (Manitoba, Canada) we have the cheapest electricity rates in North America. We have too much capacity and we sell to the US at great margins.

What we are exploring currently, is Electric Cars. You see, most of our electricity is Hydro (generated by Dams). During the day is the majority of usage.

However, at night, the water is diverted away from the turbines because consumption is lowest at night. There is no power storage so we do not generate at night.

Now think of the possibility. If we all had electric cars, we could charge them all over night. You might as well keep spinning the turbines and use the capacity eh ?

Change is coming. Hopefully sooner than later.

For now, I will keep riding my bike at -40. That technology exists as well.

I admire you Pongo! I was trying to ride my bike once at -6C and really it was toooooo cold for me! I felt that I couldn't even breath since I was so covered! I guess when you are used to such low temperatures, then things are "easy". But I still wonder how well can a car perform under those temperatures! I remember that my cell phone even was slow when it was -6C!
