Dear all,

Soon I'm going to buy a new Toyota YARIS T3 5dr but I still haven't decide which engine to choose between the 1.3 VVT-i petrol and the 1.4 D4D diesel engine.

Can someone guide me to make the right decision?

I’m looking for a smooth, reliable and of course economical car to use over the coming years.

Thanks in advance to everyone's feedback.

Regards,
Dennis

get the petrol engine if you want a car with a lot of low-end torque and acceleration, and go for diesel if you want fuel economy. but you must put into account that all fuel stations don't sell diesel, and even though new diesel is lower sulfur, they're not the cleanest engines out there, but they are also very reliable and can basically run off of anything that burns

He lives in Malta so there is a chance that most stations will carry diesel.
