Toyota Forums _ Toyota Cressida Forum _ 1989 Toyota Cressida Won't Start After 5 Days (has New Battery And New Alternator)

Hi everyone! I have a 1989 Toyota Cressida that's driving me nuts. I travel Monday - Thursday each week (just started) so now I'm concerned. The car normally will not start if it has been sitting for 5 days. It normally will start after 4 days. It has a new battery and new alternator. I'm thinking the only thing that's pulling electricity would be the security system but I'm open to any ideas. I don't have the luxury of testing it after 5 days without locking it (thus without the security system going on) so does anyone have any ideas? It's always ultra-stressful each Thursday when I have to wonder if I'll be stuck at the airport with a car that won't start. It's been doing this for years, but now I have to drive it full-time Monday and Thursday, and need to hear from you all (gurus!) to hopefully provide some input (pammer1959@yahoo.com).

Thank you!

I had a problem with my 1989 Cresssida, and found out that the alarm had frozen (cold climate) in the on position (alarm red light) and kept pulling
the battery down. So, once the battery had been recharged, I disconnected the posts on the battery
for a day (took it in the house). And when I put it back in... it started! What that did, was reset the circuit breaker on the alarm. Just make sure your alarm is flashing when you lock you door. I hope this help!
