Hi to all
I hope your day has started better than mine. I am a proud owner of a toyota cressida and was greeted this morning with no car in my drive way. I then took a walk around the corner and to my surprise my big baby was there. So yes somebody tried to steal my car! The person tried to start it and shoved a screw driver in the ignition. Now i can insert the key but it wont turn. Please could you give me some advice as how to remove the ignition so that i can put a new one in? Thank you so much for your help.
Honestly and truly, you should get a lock-smith to replace it. Here in Canada it's about $80 for the whole package...don't know about South Africa but it can't be much different.
The older Cressida should be pretty basic for the locksmith to change-out....new tumbler mechanism.
If it's an emergency or you can afford anything....try using the screwdriver like the thief did....what do you have to lose ? The mechanism is "pooched" anyways right ?
