My intro:
I am NOT a car guy....I would rather be able to rid e a bike everywhere. On Sunday I decided to get a new car. On Monday I hit the phone and internet looking for a used matrix By Noon I figured I wanted a new 2009 Corolla even though I had never driven a Corolla and never seen a 2009 model. By 4pm I found out a magic number discount price and bought one over the phone. The dealer had to bring the car in and by Thursday I owned a new car. I like the car! Yeah....kinda proud of this one.
So onto my question: I went into the glove box and found a package of 2 rubber plugs with the label: "IMPORTANT to pre-delivery inspector. Insert these rubber plugs into the holes of the center floor side member extensions."
I looked and found a whole right were the package showed it to be (diagram). The plugs would fit in perfect.
I called the dealer and they would not tell me what they were for....they said don't worry about them. We will put them in on your fist oil change. They are 70Km away and my oil change is 6 months away.
The service center said don't put them in and not to worry about them. Toyota would not tell me what they were for. The salesman I have not yet heard from.
So what are these plugs for? did the dealer forget something else to?
