It was a beautiful day this past Sunday in Chicago. I took the Celica
out for a personal matter and on the way there I was challenged by a
lone guy in a XKR, I let him ease in front and followed behind,
maintaining a respectable distance between myself and the mucho
expensive Jaguar until we hit some open road and I know he started to
floor it, a downshift to 4th and full on the gas pulled the Celica
strongly where I started to walk by him and past, after getting about
5 car lengths ahead a shift to 5th was called for. I had to let off
when I was fast approaching traffic from behind. The Jaguar owner
caught up after a bit and gave me a thumbs up, to which I returned.
On the way back home a Audi TT (bright yellow) and a BMW M3 pulled
alongside. The Audi TT owner revved his engine, nice exhaust note by
the way but the guy didn't know how to negotiate traffic smoothly and
the BMW M3 owner didn't seem like he wanted to get into the fight.
I think the Audi TT owner did not think I would take him up when he
revved his engine up. His girlfriend was with him so I'm sure he
wanted to look good and 'rev' the engine up.
Anyways, just thought I'd share this with you guys. Treat those
Classic Celicas good and they pay you back.
Later,
El.
