So i got the check engine light while driving from Denver to Aspen i have a 96 Tacoma SR5. The truck chugs at 50+ and most notably going up hills. My OBD2 says Cylinder 3 misfire. I changed the plugs and wires (it was nearly time anyway). It seemed to correct the chugging but now its intermittent and im still getting the check engine and cylinder 3 misfire. I thought then it could be an injector but after running three different products in three tanks of gas its still the same. The only other thing i can think of is the coil is fouled. Does anyone know if its possible the coil fouls for only one cylinder? Not sure about other toyotas mine has one coil for 2 cylinders, and it seems strange it would fail on only one. If anyone has any thoughts or sage advice id appreciate it :)
