Rav4 On The Beach, Is the RAV4 an off-road vehicle Options

Is the Rav4 as versatile as the 4runner. Need a beach vehicle but not sure is the
Rav4 is an off-road vehicle like the 4runner. Is the 4wd a true 4wd. Can I lock
in all 4 wheels.

I bought a 2007 Rav4 that replaced my 2006 Tacoma. I have taken the Rav4 off road in the Sand dunes which is just like the beach, and the snow, but do not recommend it unless you have a model that has the ability to TURN OFF the traction control. If you have the traction control on it will take away power when you need it when your tires begin to slip, which will get you STUCK. So if you have a model that either does not have TRACTION CONTROL, or one that can be disabled you should be OK. The 2009 models do have this option; I'm not sure about the 2008.

One more thing; I will not take my Rav4 in the sand dunes again, because I get stuck every time because of my traction control, my Tacoma only got stuck when I was doing something stupid, so make sure you get it with the traction control disable option.
