My sons first car. A '94 Tercel. He's had his license for one week. I am a master certified ASE technician & I took for granted that he would know what to do if the oil light on the dash started coming on. Boy was I wrong. The engine now has a hole on the side you can put your fist through. Anyway, it has a 3EE engine & I have a wrecked "96 Tercel with a 5EFE engine with 71,000 miles on it. My question is, will it be a big deal to put it in the '94? I think everything I would need off the '96 is still good. They are both four speed manual transmissions. Has anyone done this & can possibly give a heads up as to what to watch out for. When I get it running again, I will give my son a good detailed lesson on what the lights mean & how to add oil.

I haven't done one, but I think the biggest stumbling block would be the wiring.
Toyota uses different ECM plug configureations for pretty well every different model car, and sometimes year.
Other then that I think most eveything else would probably be pretty much the same.

I have attached the ecm pinouts for the 94 and 96 Tercels.
They look like just about the same configuration with different plugs.

If you would like more info, just email me trypolar@hotmail.com

Hope this helps
