My car was diagnosed as needing the head gasket replaced. I don't want to put that kind of money into this old car but I'd like to keep it running as long as possible. I'm adding about a quart of fluid per week. There's no white exhaust yet. How long might the car last if I just keep the coolant filled up?

Has anyone tried Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Fix? Does it work? I'm just looking for a temporary fix until I can get another car.

If anyone has any advice or any leak fix products you could recommend it would be much appreciated.
