Hi all,
My 2002 Camry rear door will not lock or unlock when activated by the remote. The lock handle moves a bit when the remote button is pushed so I know the electrical signal is getting to the assembly. Does the door lock assembly get week after a while? Do I have to replace the assembly? Toyota charges $240 for a new one. Is there a internet parts site I can go to to save some bucks?

Thanks,
Jackyboyf

Find a local auto locksmith. It doesn't sound like the electrical parts aren't working correctly. it sounds like the mechanical parts are jammed somewhere. An electrical door mock motor doesn't get weaker; it just stops working at some time. Don't just throw new parts at it. Find out what's actually not working. Hy

Thanks HY,

Unfortunatly I did buy a new assembly and put it in myself. It works great but at $212.00 that I wish I still had in my pocket.

I tried to dissect the old one to figure out the problem but ended up actually messing it up trying to dismantle it.

I'm not sure if a locksmith actually fixes the innards of the motor assembly but if it happens again, I'll call one.

Thanks,
Jackyboy
