My 1991 Cressida was totaled last week. I need to remove the great Kenwood CD/MP3/Ipod system that I put in a year ago for my son. To do this, I need to remove the front dash area in the center console but cannot seem to find any screws or other ways to remove without damaging the dash, which the insurance company will not endorse. Any one have any experience removing the stereo and know how to remove the dash components to get at the brackets and wiring? Thanks.
I hate to lose this car...have had it since 1992 and put over 225K and still loved it!

Is it a way for you to remove the loom casing for you to remove it? Removing everything that could possibly be in the way might help also. Not a 100% sure though never did it myself. But I think that is how it could be done. Or you can always try to get it done at at auto shop although it may be expensive.

[size=3] I'm in the same boat with a 93 corolla (except the wrecking it part). I found two screws, and that's it. I don't want to pry the front vinyl-leather-plastic and tear it up. I'm wondering if it has clips that lightly pried on will get the radio out. Not sure, but if you find out, let me know.

there are two bolts just above the centre console that you remove and the hole centre will come out not sure there might be two or three others screws about half way down and the hole instument panel should come out that is the way i did it in my 92 so i did not have to pull the hole dash out cause it is a pain in the arse and something else you will have to remove the rest of the consle between the seats
