Hello,
I have a 1993 Landcruiser with some idle and braking problems. The truck runs wonderful until the engine really heats up, after 'bout an hour or so. Then the problem starts with a very high idle when I come to a stop, then it feels like it wants to lung forward when I am braking. When I go to put it in Park, the idle revs to 3000Rpm's. This also accurs when I take it up trails with high altitudes, usually on my decent the idle is very high and I loose my brakes pretty much all together. But when I make it back down every thing seems to be perfect. I have had the brakes checked and there seems to be no problems with them. Any one else have these issues or any clue on what the problem could be?
Thanks for reading this I hope it makes sense.

Idling issue: might want to check the throttle body and idle air control valve (not sure if your LC has this though) and make sure they are clean. Have you cleaned them out before?

Brakes: have you had your brakes serviced recently? Maybe they have air in the lines, could need to bleed them to get the air out.

agree with the above posts, it would be best to check all your toyota land cruiser parts to see what's really causing the problem.. by the way, have you done tune up, lately? give us an update regarding this matter.. :)

SanJuan, these can be complex, but very solvable problems. The following inputs to the computer are vital so check the O2 sensors, throttle position switch and the vane airmeter before going into the fuel injection controls. On the simple side, throttle/cruise control cables have been known to stick giving the symptions you describe. Please post your solution when you find it.

i've seen this---usually an air-leak in both carbed or injection engines---carbs are simple--not tight or bad gasket---end of trouble---fuel injection? check for loose intake things---then ask an 'injection-guy/ms'---
i don't get out of my league on fact---
