My friend was talking to his girlfriend's dad and he claims that the MR2 can go 160 without any modifications... I was just curious if any owners out there have any input.. That just seems super fast to me. I know that they are awesome looking little cars with some pretty hot power but how fast can they really go? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I knew that was bull! LOL 129 is fast though. The more speed the better for some. Myself, I prefer the 4x4s and stuff.

The NA or 5sfe non turbo can only hit like 124-125

The turbo will go faster like 150 or so

[All in MPH]

5SFE - 130
3SFE - 130 ish
3SGE (Gen II) - 140
3SGE (Gen III) - 145-150 [150 would have to be a really really healthy engine on 98/99 RON]
3SGTE - 155-160 [95/97/98 RON]

I have owned and driven all bar the 5SFE and 3SFE. I have been timed on airfields before and the car WILL do 160 *provided* it is a healthy turbo. 155 is probably a better estimate. I am basing my information on UK/JDM spec cars however, I do not know if It differs in the USA.
