I bought a 1994 Pickup over the summer and Ive noticed that it leaks a lot of coolant. The trouble is that I cannot find the leak. I check the engine every time I drive, I check the oil, and I just replaced the water pump, and still it leaks. Ive looked over all the hoses and I simply cannot find the leak. I have to fill the radiator every time I drive which is really annoying. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or knew how to fix it.

Over the 10 years I've owned my truck, the water pump leaked, had a radiator hose leak and a head gasket blow (this was a recall luckily). Those are the only water related problems I've had.

Do you notice any other symptoms besides low water levels? Are there any warning lights on, smoke, etc?

i noticed the other day that there was a coolant on top of the water pump when I popped the hood before starting it. I thought this was weird because I just had the water pump reaplaced. Do you think it could be a head gasket problem?

Try something as easy as replaceing your radiator cap. If it ain't working correctly you can loose water through your other reservoir.

take it to a rad shop and have them pressure test the system... simple as removing your cap and replacing with one that is attached to a hand pump....
