Replacement Head Gasket Sets Options

I have a 1993 3.0L V6 SR5 Pickup and have just recently blown a head gasket. I have read that this is a common problem for this particular engine. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on which kits to buy... which kits I shouldn't. Also, to anyone that has already done this, have you experienced and problems with the heads warping? Any help is appreciated.

Go with the factory Toyota gasket. The new gasket fixes the head gasket problem. Unless you overheated it or it's a large leak, then the heads should be fine. I would check them for flatness anyway, just in case. And if you have over 200k it might be worth doing a valve job since most of the cost is in the labor in removing the heads.
Also, use new, OEM, headbolts. They are stretch bolts and can not be used twice. In fact, the cause of the gasket failing a second time is often caused by reusing the bolts.

And my V6 has no issues with holding at 5,000 RPMs for several miles. You can flog it, it can take it.

Oh, and Toyota has an OEM gasket set for the entire engine. Everything you need in one box. It came in real handy when I did the heads on mine.
