Hey, I just stumbled upon this page awhile back and this is my first post. I was beginning to think the page was dead. I could really use ANYONES HELP as I have ran into a problem. Let me explain, I have a 1986 Toyota MR2 N/A. I am currently restoring the car to it's former glory. One of my massive projects has been to replace the dash. The orginal was cracked beyond repair and bent as well. Recently I found a decent black dash from an 87 N/A, and I ASSSUMED that it would fit. However after looking at it tonight I noticed it looks bigger then the orginal one. Has anyone replaced a dash on their two? Will this 87 dash work on this car, or do I need specfically an 86 dash? Any chance that someone might have or know of a place to find a black 86 dash that I could get? Please ANY help, advice, suggestion would be gladly welcomed.

All 85-89 dashpads should be the same size. I put a dash out of an '86 into my old '87 with no problems. A few of the parts that are attached to the dash had minor changes in '87 but you should be able to '87 dash in the '86. -Kirk Kirk's MR2 Page http://www.geocities.com/kirkosaurus/KirksMR2Page.html

I have changed out the dash in my 91-92 and it was a bitch. Take your time. I had to take the steering wheel off and just about everything else. Not sure how much you will have to do on yours as mine is the newer model.

It is so close that I can feel my feet on the pedals. We are waiting on a few parts....as if David didn't already have everything already lol. The engine is almost completely together. I've been working rebuilding the calipers and painting them...hehe. David has been beautifying the engine with some paint - looks good enough to eat off of. I told David I'm gonna hate putting the engine back in as clean as it is (bling bling)....He said that dam engine is going back in there - hehe. I really want it in there too. I have to take my camera next time. Dude, when that car is fully functional....I'm thinking keg party!

A keg party? Cool, that's sure to bring Cap'n Zesty out of the woodwork. Ray '93 T (now with '94-'95 taillights).
