Ok, here is a transmission mystery... The trans in my 94 works perfectly in drive. It runs through all the gears without a problem and back down as I come to a stop. There does not seem to be any hard shifts, it pretty much drives as it should. Here comes the mystery: If I down shift the automatic trans one gear there is no change, you don't hear the engine wind up or feel the truck slow down at all. Shift the trans down one more gear and it feels like it just down shifted once... This is all with the OD button turned off. The Toyota dealer can not figure it out and wants to start replacing $200+ parts until they find the right one... One more twist. If I down shift all the way (two gears down) and drive the truck downhill a little (I have a 7 mile down hill decent each morning to work, about 2,000 ft if your wondering) and then press the OD button to on the truck shifts in to what is obviously the lowest gear... HELP!
