Hey Guys, I will try to explain the problem with as much detail as I can and if anyone has any questions please feel free to ask, I could use the help. Vehicle: 92 4runner V6 Standard/Manual Transmission 5 speed SR5 Edition 255000 kms Problem: Okay here's the deal. I noticed that last week after I took it in for an oil change that when going uphill in 5th gear I accelerated quite heavily and there seemed to be gear slippage. The closest thing I can relate it to is in an automatic transmission when it gets older and starts to slip gears when under heavy acceleration. However, I also though that maybe this was just an overdrive feature that I was unaware of. Just bought this truck 4 months ago in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. I have since movied to Vancouver Island and think that the differences in elevation may be one of the issues. So after the initial slippage I started paying closer attention. Shit like this drives me nuts until i figure out what the problem is. I tried to replicate it on several occasions and could only do it in 4th or 5th gear going up a hill and pressing the pedal all the way down, fully accelerating. The other reason it reminds me of an overdrive feature or a slipping automatic transmission is that it will rev very high with no appreciable increase in power then the revs will drop right back down and if I let up on the pedal a bit i will get back the expected power at the expected RPM's. Now after about 2 weeks it has started doing it in 3rd if I try hard enough and am sure 2nd is just around the corner. Again, any help would be appreciated guys. Cheers, J

Cheers for the quick reply. One other thing that I noticed a while back is that when I depressed the clutch all the way to the floor it was a bit sticky coming back up. As far as the manual transmission thing goes I have driven manuals all my life and this is the first clutch I have ever had a problem with thanks for asking though it helps the trouble shooting process. (hate automatics haha) So I am pretty sure it must have been on its way out when I bought it. What would you say is a fair price for a new clutch remember I am in canada. Thanx again for all the help. Cheers, J
