We're new to the Knoxville Tennessee area and need a good mechanic for our 1995 Toyota Avalon.

Suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

It may cost more, but I always go to the dealership because I like that they keep a database of all the service done and such.

I have a cousin up your way, I'll try to call him and see who he uses.

Until then, check with the people you work with, go to church with, or the parent's of children's friends. Go talk to the mechanic. If he doesn't have time to talk with you, keep looking.

Good point that word of mouth is the best way to go if looking for a mechanic away from the dealership.

When I was engaged to a Navy man, there was an ex Navy mechanic that would take EXTRA good care of us females. Why is it that most mechanics want to take advantage of women?
