HI HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A UNIVERSAL INDUCTION FILTER UNDER THE NAME MAX POWER UNFORTUNATELY WITHOUT FITTING INSTRUCTIONS BASICALLY I KNOW TO REMOVE HOSES FROM ORIGINAL AIR FILTER UNCLIP THE BOX TAKE OUT FILTER, REMOVE BOX AND PUT HOSE ON TO NEW FILTER HOWEVER I HAVE NOTICED ELECTRICAL INPUTS INTO EXISTING AIR FILTER?? CAN ANYONE GIVE ME FAIRLY DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS OF HOW TO FIT THIS? CAR IS CELICA GT 4WS ST185 THANKS

Is it a st185 (GT4) with 4 wheel drive or st183 (GTR/GT) with 4 wheel steering?

Dead easy, remove the top bit of the airbox, disconnect it from the inlet piping at the airbox end, unplug the air temp sensor, get a 6 inch length of pipe that'll fit into both the filter and the inlet pipe secure with big jubilee/hose clips and either tie the air temp sensor out of the way or drill a hole into your new filter and refit.

SORRY TO BE A BIT DENSE BUT WILL THE CAR BE OK WITHOUT THE AIR TEMP SENSOR?

now im confused one reply says to tie the air sensor out of way and the other states to use it because its important. which is it to be?

If you can fit it do it, mine just hangs in the engine bay though i insulated it a wee bit just for the sake of it and my car runs ok and ran ok with out insulating it.
