Has any one put one of these carb kits on there car
did it help
is there lots of mods to do such as redoing the vac lines
any help would be great

I just ordered one on Ebay and will install this weekend. Replaceng the Variable Vent. carb. with 2 bbl from Weber. Hope i don't have to use ALL the old vac lines! Had the old one off and back on 3 times already. The new one should be simple. I hope. I'll let you know how it goes.

UPS didn't bring the carb today. May be next weekend before i can install and let you know how it went.

Hi! Beninarkansas, iīm jaime gonzalez, from venezuela, south america.... i have a Toyota Tercel ī88 2 doors sedan, Itīs a great car, but here in my country is not supported by dealers becaused itīs a imported model.... in all the state is the only tercel ī88.

But i spent so much time trying to fixing the carb. itīs run ok, good iddle, but when i ask some power when the motor is warm, the car start to smoke.... Itīs fuel smoke (black), know i see the problem is the HIC valve... Hot idle comp... when the motor is cool, no smoke, but when itīs warm... begin the black smock.

I want to change the Carb, for a most realible carb... Iīll buy online trhough amazon or ebay, so i appreciate if you post all the info of the carb swap, including carb model, and all the stuff i need toy to do the swap. I think itīs a weber 2bbl 32/36 carb that fix my toyota, but iīm not sure.....

I hope you can change your carb without probles, then i can change mine......

Got mine in yesterday and will do the swap Sunday. The hurricane is supposed to send rain and wind here to south Arkansas so it will be a good time to work in the shop.. The instructions say to face the throttle linkage to the passanger side of car but my stock linkage is on the drivers. I plan to take the throttle linkage off my old carb and put on the new Weber so the stock mounting for the cable and stuff will work. I'll let you know how that goes. Then it looks like i just connect my dist. vacum to the new carb and cap the emission port to the canister and hope for the best. The carb is supposed to be factory tuned for the engine. We don't have to pass any emissions here in Arkansas. The instructions say "Typical Install Instructions" so that means the instructions arn't written in stone! I think that's what it means.

Got mine on ebay item #270268939053 for $334.94 shipped to me here in the States. Didn't get mine on this weekend. Have to get longer allen head bolts than the ones supplied. Have to work on it again this comming weekend.

I have my linkage on the passanger side
pulled most of my vacuum lines off as a lot of it it attached to the old carb
Can not get it to idle so gotta look at more vac lines

Got around to installing the weber replacement carb on the 87 tercel. I put the throttle cable linkage from old carb on to new carb and installed carb with the linkage on the drivers side so the throttle cable hooked up like it did on the old one. The "Typical" installation instructions that came with the carb said to put the linkage on the passanger side?! The vaccum advance port will be on the back side of carb so be sure that you hook up a 2 foot vac line to carb before you install the carb on the intake. There is no room to inst5all it after you set the carb on. Hook it to the vac line from distrubtor that has no vac when at idle. Plug all vac tubes and hoses before installing carb. Fuel port on new carb will be on passanger side now so you need a fot of fuel line. Dribble a little gas down new carb and start. You will need to buy and install new plugs cause if your old carb was messed up, it probally gas fouled your plugs. If they are black, replace them. The car will run 100 % better. Guess how i know? Haven't had time to take it down the road yet, but it puurs like a kitten idling in the shop. Anyone else done this? Chime in!
