Just thought I'd let everyone know that I've taken all of your advice, and decided to say "what the hell" and bought a new K&N 57i injection air filter kit. The guy in the shop, said afterwards it was a good decision, cus he used to have one his self, and not only was it a lot better speed wise, and accelerating etc. it gave it a fantastic "throaty sound". Wahey cant wait, but dont be suprised if ya hear from me, saying, how the fu*k does this thing fit on!

Let u know how it goes,

Baker

Me again! Yep it's official, even I can install a K&N air filter. Only took me an hour to do! 50 mins scratching my head wondering "shit have I just balls'd up my engine", and the other 10 mins actually installing it!
Im really glad I have taken all of your advice, as I am really pleased with it, and it now not only sounds fantastic, but fly's!!!!
At first I wondered what all the fuss was about, and whether or not Ive just wasted ?70! BUT, then I took the baby up to 3,500 revs, and then heard that fantastic whistling sound, and felt myself going into my seat a hell of a lot more than I used to!
I havent had a chance to really "open her up" since I've had it installed, but last week I was doing 125mph on the motorway, and started to shit myself as I realised I was going over the official top speed of the car! Im thinking about taking my MR2 onto the track one day as suggested by my mate (Toyota Corolla GTi Owner, exact same engine by the way), and having a bit of fun "round those bends".
Well anyway, hope some of this is of use, or at least mildly interesting to you, haha, your Mk1 MR2 loving english dude,

Baker
