I've uploaded a few scans from Toyota's Prius "New Car Features"
book, which you can order directly from Toyota for $38.80 plus tax
and shipping as Toyota Part Number 00400-NCF18-2U. Toyota will accept credit card telephone orders at 1-800-622-2033. This 194-page heavily illustrated book is a must for any tech-headed hybrid enthusiast.

These scans and excerpts are copyright 2000 Toyota Motor Corp. I
believe sharing these bits is fair use, and will whet your appetite
for buying the book about this technological tour-de-force, but
Toyota, if there's a problem please let me know and I'll delete them.

I've put them in a "Tech: Motor/Inverter Diagrams" album in the photos area.

"INVERTER - General"
> The scans don't appear to work - but thanks for trying.

They are links to the files over on egroups, which works fine for me, so I thought it was OK. Maybe it's only because my browser has the egroup-member cookies. Sorry about that. I'll upload the actual files here tonight.

--Mike

On the last scan of the power torque graph it's easy to see why the car has so much pick up from a dead stop (0 to 20 mph in one second)and then needs the engine to help launch the car to the higher speeds. Does the book mention Efficiencies of different components. I know motor, battery, and switching transistors have improved in the last 10 years and can only assume that the most efficient to date are being used.

You just sold one book here if your working on commission.
