I just got my pick up a week ago and have lost 4th gear. I have a '93 Toyota Pick up with a 22RE, 2 wheel drive 5 speed and it grinds into 4th. If you pull hard enough it will sometimes go in but not often. I just replaced the rear trans mount in hopes of bringing the tail cone up if the shifter was hitting the body but with no luck. My gut is telling me it is a sincro that is out but I am unsure if there is a adjustment for 4th on a shift rod. If anyone has been itto the 5 speed trans please help!!!!

For anyone that has a trans problem I have found out a trick. There are 2 bushings under the shifter that are EASY to replace and cost under $20 at the dealer. Do that first. As for mine I stripped out the syncro in 4th. Not really a big problem there because Toyota sells all the parts seprate for the trans (you do not have to buy a high dollor rebuild kit) so you get only that parts you need. I hope this helps out someone out there.....
