Below are instructions I used to program a new remote for a 2005 Sienna LE. Good luck.

Programming for 2004 and 2005 Toyota Sienna

When

Remote transmitter added or replaced.
System malfunction.

How

Driver's door open, key removed from ignition switch.
Within 5 seconds:
Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch twice.
Within 40 seconds:
Close and open driver's door twice.
Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch.
Close and open driver's door twice.
Insert the key into the ignition switch and close the driver's door.
Within 40 seconds:
Switch ignition ON and OFF once to program a remote transmitter code whilst
retaining the original codes or twice to program a remote transmitter code
whilst erasing the original codes. Three times to check how many remote
transmitters are currently registered or five times to erase all registered
codes.
Remove key from ignition switch:
System should now lock and unlock vehicle once, twice or five times
depending which mode has been selected. One to four times, slowly, to
indicate number of remote transmitters registered.
Within 40 seconds:
Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 1.5 seconds.
Within 3 seconds:
Press LOCK button.
System should now lock and unlock vehicle once to confirm registration,
twice to indicate registration has failed.
Within 40 seconds:
Repeat button procedure to program remaining remote transmitters.

NOTE: To exit programming mode: Open driver's door. NOTE: A maximum of 4 remote
transmitters can be programmed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If at any time you mess up the sequence or exceed the timing
mentioned in any instructions, start the vehicle, then turn it off, remove
the key, and close any open doors to reset the vehicle back to square
one. Then begin the process anew. This must be done prior to each and every
attempt at programming! Failure to do so will only result in frustration as
you will not be succesful in your next attempt either.

Awesome. It Worked! God bless you! My old key fob was dead I had an "extra" one I bought on ebay cheap ($5) but no pgm instructions.

My wife has been riding my a$$ DAILY about the fob not working...a man can only take so much. These instructions were PRICELESS!

This program did not work for me. It left both my original key fob and the replacement one I was trying to program able to do lock and unlock but totally nonresponsive when trying to use any of the sliding door/rear door buttons. I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna XLE. Does anyone have key fob programming instructions that will work with my 2 sliding side doors and power rear door? Thanks!

I understand this programs the fob.

Does the key itself not need to be programmed to the car?

I only received one key & fob with my car. I see each for sale separately on Ebay. If I buy them from different stores and go through these procedures does it program both the key AND the fob? I understand I need to get the key cut at the dealer or a locksmith.

Thanks, nf

The Key after you have it cut needs to be programmed to your van. If you go to the dealer they will program it for you for a price. If you have it cut some where else, you have to get the programming instructions to program it to your van. I did the programming myself for my 99 sienna.
