HI guys

My 4runner is a 93 three liter 3vze model and i am having endless hassle with the knock sensor, i took it in to have a seal replaced on the passenger side head and when i got it back the mechanic at toyota said that my engine warning light has all of a sudden started coming on and that it is a knock sensor problem, what he did not tell me was that he broke the wire going to the knock sensor and now they refuse to take responsability for it.

I have have bought a new wire and sensor, but i dont have time or money to strip and replace the sensor, is there a way to connect the sensor somewhere else on the engine just to get the light to go out and the ecu to stop retarding the timing, i am not worried to have the sensor in the motor , because she was running perfect before the mechanic touched it.
