Hey everyone... '88 4Runner here, and after new tires, adjustment of the TBars, new Idler Arm, Alignment of front end, my Runner was sitting even and driving straight.... Until today. Was out crawling over the river bed (without trashing my Runner one bit) ( I took NO HARD HITS on the front end) and sunk in some silt. This stuff sucked big time. I stepped out and sunk about 2 inches and it just about pulled my boot off when I moved. Anyway I got pulled out of the mess (I was up to my axles) and on the way home the truck was shaking big time! From about 40 to 55 mph was when I could really feel it. I got it home and sprayed any mud and rock out from under it and inspected. Nothing was broke and I saw no damage. I'll give it a test drive tomorrow to see if it was mud or rocks that were stuck up in there somewhere, but my question is how easily do these get knocked out of alignment??? Getting pulled out was very easy. No hard pulling, or hard jerks (though it was at a slight angle, but my tires never "slid" sideways while he was pulling). He pulled me about a foot and I drove the rest of the way out myself. While I was stuck, my wheels stayed straight so it wasn't like I was trying to steer left or right trying to get out of the hole... This really bummed me out for the rest of the day thinking I have to fork out another 100 bucks to get this aligned again. Why did my alignment get so out of wack because of this??? Shannon

My guess is you have picked up mud you have not found.. maybe drum brakes in the rear... or inside wheels you didn't catch. It doesn't take much at the wheels to throw of balance as you know. Richard

You don't have an alignment problem, unless you broke something. I'll bet big money this is a wheel balance problem caused by mud or gravel that you haven't found yet. Andrew Tobolewski MaxTech Marketing, Ltd. andyt@... 412-913-1177

Found it! Thanks for the hint. Not sure how I missed this rock (besides it was getting a little dark out) but it was a little bit bigger then a golf ball. Runs straight and true again. Thanks again!
