Hi, All,

I am getting a great offer from a relative to buy a used 1999 or 2000 Avalon with 100,000 miles for $3,500. I know for a fact that the owner changed the oil and did required maintenance on time and consistently for the life of the car like clockwork. The condition as far as I can tell is very good.

Still, although I know Toyotas tend to last, the car has 100,000 miles. Does anyone have a minute to tell me whether there might be any big part replacements coming up at this point and whether you think the car will last? I've had a lot of problems with my Chrysler Sebring and want something stable that's not going to start to kick the bucket soon.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/57.gif) Thanks, S.

I have a 1999 Avalon with 78,000 miles and it is very reliable and pretty economical. I keep the oil changed on time and really enjoy the feel and comfort of the car. If you have been driving a Chrysler I know you will be impressed because I wouldnt own a Dodge. Hope that Helps The timing belt should have been changed at 90,000 miles so I would change that if it hasn`t . Also change the oil on time and check air filter etc.
