Greetings all! Just got myself a loaded 2006 Land Cruiser with only 10,500 miles on it!
It's loaded! Love that adjustable suspension!
Anyway, a few questions for my fellow LC owners!
1) Maintenance:
The dealer from whom I bought the LC told me that it's been serviced by them.. Well, I want to change the oil to something synthetic (I've used Mobil 1 in my car and other SUV for years...) and maybe use some red line oil for tranny, trans case and diff..
My questions: - The recommended oil is 5W-30 so I would assume Mobil 1's 5W-30 SUV would be the best fit? yes/no? - What are the oil specs for tranny, trans case and diff? Which oil is considered "the best" and often used? - I read somewere that there is a 15k maintenance including changing most fluids, correct?
2) TIRES I have 275/60/18 on there now. General Grabber I think.
I want to buy a second set of rims and tires for my days in the sand dunes and also snowy Sierras.
- What rim and tire size is recommended for the LC? (I want something that is wide, tall and aggressive while clearing the fender when dropped to the lowest supspension setting) The tires should be suitable to be aired down to 10-15 psi, be designed for sand but I want to be able to drive on the street to get to the sand..
Thanks to all who has some time over for an LC newbie!
