'99 land cruiser leaking at the moonroof! cleaned the drainholes in front on both sides, but water still dripping into interior. in desperation, sealed the perimeter of moonroof with 2" clear tape. now headliner on driver side is wet. leads me to believe water is getting in somewhere else. anyone have a suggestion?

dropframe-i brought mine in to toyota today. the service department manager said it could be one or more of the 4 drains that are causing the problem. i hope he is right, cause the gasket is not available by itself....you have to buy the entire roof again for $500-$600! many times the water comes in when i brake or accelerate. same deal for you? ughhh! i will let you know what the result is after i pick it up tonight.

i noticed while removing headliner there are drainage tubes from the front of moonroof . They run down the pillars into the fender area, they could be leaking at the point where they connect to the moonroof drain i believe they have a clip. also the tube may be plugged.

My brother has a 1997 with the same problem, leaking onto the driver's side floor.... what ended up solving your problem? Thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif)

Check your roof rack bolt / screw holes... they can rust out and if loose, creates a perfect entry point for water in roof - and if you go through car washes with power sprayers and power / jet blowers - it's just forcing water into wherever it can go... I had this problem and that's what I found fixed it after I too checked the moonroof drainage and found no blockage...

sadly i had this problem, where the passenger side floor would be soaked after rain. So i went to a friend of mine and he located the leak was in that tube leading from the passenger side front corner sunroof. now a Toyota mechanic told me that this is naturals so that water that sits on the sunroof in between the glass and that wind blocker attachment, doesn't cause wear on the car. it goes from that corner down though the side of the door through the floor to the underside of the car.
