I'm just getting to grips with my LH113 Hiace Camper and I've found a fuse that keeps blowing. This fuse is a 25A fuse that is between the vehicle battery and the leisure battery when the engine is running. I have checked out the circuits and all appears normal. When the engine starts the Riemo relay operates and maks the connection to the leisure battery. The fuse seems to blow when this happens. When the engine is running and the fuse out the voltage between the two batteries is 1.36V. Anyone got any ideas? Perhaps I need a slow-blow fuse to cover the initial surge?

Richard,
did you get anywhere with this problem? I think I have the same problem on my 1994 reimo camper, however its two fuses that blow. The top 30amp and the next one down in the block which is 25 amp. What happens is that as soon as I start the engine both fuses blow. I haven't got a clue as to what to do to sort this out! Just wondered if you had got any further with it.

Jim

Have a look at this webpage

http://www.fridge-and-solar.net/dual_bat.htm

They use a 100 amp mega fuse. Wiring diagram is there so you know where to install it. Those fuses aren't that expensive, and should sort your problem out!

Thanks Harry, however I've found the problem. The split charge relay (70amp jobby) was causing the fuse to blow. Once I replaced the realy all is fine and dandy!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)
