I have been having a problem with my back brakes holding me back. I am having to overcome the brake pressure like I am driving with my e-brake on. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You could start by jacking up each wheel and rotating it by hand to check for excessive drag, a caliper or wheel cylinder, or even the parking brake could be hanging up or frozen.
