Anyone know where I can order a set of lowering springs for my 77 RA29? I have tried cyberauto and rockauto with no luck. I know Toysport claims to have them but other members have expressed displeasure with Toysport. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Leek

Well, I say give ToySport a try, if you don't want to do business with them then just say sorry and hang up. They are a good source for parts that pertain to your application. You can probably get springs from other places but I got mine a long time ago from ToySport and have had no issues. Good luck!

Toysport is a great place. BUT...they have changed their ways. I've found since Jo-gee (I'm not even sure about jo-gee's correct name spelling.) left they have abandoned old school toyotas. Now Mario is the guy in charge. He's pretty good, but he says they want to sick to newer toyotas now. To answer your question, NO toysport does not carry and will not get more springs for a 77 celica. They once told me that if I could get ten people to buy full sets of springs they would have them spun again. Call or go to the Ground Control web site. Thats where I got my front end coil over kit. It's a ground control made ajustable sleeve with eibach springs. These made a huge differance. Day & night differance. I still haven't found where to get rear springs. But if I found 9 others, I would go back to toysport and ask for more springs.

Thanks Grey. I checked out ground control and that looks like a workable alternative. I wonder how one would get the car to sit lower at the rear. I have several sets of rear springs that could be either cut or heated, I guess. Anyone have any ideas on that? My goal is to lower the entire car for body roll reduction and better overall appearance. Grey, at what setting do you use your coil overs and how much lower does the front end sit? Thanks!

No problem. As for my set up, I have them installed at the highest point. This dropped the car a good inch and a half. The coil over also has about 4 more inches of drop to go. Adding these springs leveled the car (My celica has always had a sagging rear, but now it's straight) and gave me about 1 & a half inches of gap between the tire & fender. I would like to go lower. but not with out rear springs. There was one hiccup with the ground control, I had to take the top locking nut/cap off the front strut in order to get the sleeve on. Other than that, no problems. I also have Addco sway bars & Energy suspension bushings. Those I got from toysport. If you dont already have those parts, they counld probably help. You cant go directly to Enery Suspension. I did that first, and they said they don't make the parts. Oh and the eibach springs are are HALF the length of the stock springs. If you you have stock seats as I did you'll wanna replace them. I had vynal and was sliding into the door and parking break at every turn. I hear you can throw supra seats in there. I went with the corbeau carreras. They're really nice, but too big. The doors bump them, they block your view through the side rear window, and they raise you a good 2-3 inches. This is fine for me because I'm short, but my friends have to watch their heads. I'm still waiting on my camber plates & F & R strut tower bars.
