Just got my Silver Prius Monday!! Yeee Haa!
Anyway, it's been 104 for like twelve weeks or something here in Austin. I'm getting 47 mpg city driving. The best advice I've gotten is get on it hard to get to speed and then take you foot off and float it over the pedal. Often I can get mostly electric power and grreat mileage that way.

Anybody in the West and 10th Ave area in a Green one today?

If your prius is like mine, your mileage will go up significantly once the engine break-in period is over. My tanks #1 and #2 had lousy mileage; 3, 4, and 5 did much better.

Consider using a major brand of 87 octane gas without any additives to see if your MPGs go even higher. This happened with our Prius.

It's quite clear that the prius needs a breaking-in period. Concerning handling the pedal: My experience is, that the car drives better when you don't push it hard, but let the gear 'come-in'. After that it's advisable to release it a little.
Didn't see your green Prius. I live at the other side of the Atlantic.
See you ..
Dick from Leiden/ the Netherlands
