Hello Everybody!<br><br>Just getting ready to do an Oil Change on my new Toy and wanted any tips from the experienced hands out there.<br><br>I've got a 2001 TRD Doublecab, w/ the 3.4 V6 and I Love It!! <br><br>I'm racking up the miles in a hurry, 10k in 4 months, and I'm planning on following the 5k maintenance schedules.<br><br>What are the things to look out for? I'm thinking about spending the $150 for the Toyota service manual, but I'm not sure if there is much need to. I want to do the basic maintenance myself. Would the Clymers or Chiltons manuals be sufficient? <br><br>Any tricks that might help? <br><br>Thanks, <br>Perry

There's not a lot of room to change the filter. It's located under (beneath) alternator. Take a large rag and stuff it under the oil filter. This will catch most of the oil that leaks out once you start unscrewing the filter.<br><br>I've had my 2001 4x4 Double Cab for one year (8300 miles) with no problems so far.<br><br>Jeff
