I have an 05 Sequoia and I would like to find out how to reset the maintenance light in the dash. I've called the dealer and they have refused to tell me how to do it. I suspect it is a simple matter of standing on one foot, while scratching my right ear with my left hand, flashing the lights three times and releasing the trunk latch, all on the third tuesday of the month! :-) Seriously, I am disappointed that the dealer refused to tell me how to reset this feature on the vehicle. What a pain. Anyone know how to do this? Please let me know as I'm tired of seeing the oil change light on constasntly as I have more than exceeded the factory recomendations for frequency of oil changes but I refuse to be held hostage to the dealer for this simple service.

This is how it works for a 2007 Corolla. Maybe the the same sequence:

To reset the Maintenance Lamp turn the car key to ACC, set your odometer on mileage (not trip a or b) then turn key off. Then hold they button that switches from odo and trip, then turn the key back to ACC. While you are holding the button down you will notice the maintenance light blink and go out. Reset is complete and you are done.

The dealer told me / showed me how to reset it.

Turn ignition to "ON" position. Make sure odometer is on trip setting not on total vehicle mileage setting.

Turn ignition OFF

Push and hold odometer button while turning ignition to "ON" position. HOld for about 4-5 seconds until maintenance light goes off. Turn ignition OFF. Start up vehicle. There should be no more maintanence light.

Apparently the maintenance light only comes on for USA Sequoia's. It is to remind you to change your oil. But it has nothing to do with mileage because I only put on 1000 miles since last oil change and light still came on. I suspect it's to do with # of days...

I bought a US Sequoia but I live in BC.
