I have a cherry '91 Tecel DX 4 dr AT,AC, PS, that was found in AZ by my retired parents. Previously owned and well-maintained by similarly aged fossils and mostly driven only when their Caddy was having it's tire air rotated or some similar situation. Anyway, it's good for 30-36 mpg and I would like to here from owners with similar Tercels and their experiences. Also, who can tell me the best way to hook up an aftermarket tach. So far, the info I've been able to find is that the ignition lead for the tach is connected to black wire with blue trace on igniter. That so???

Hey. I have a 1984 toyota camry with no tachometer also. I've been trying to get ahold of one to hook up in the engine to set the idle speed and ignition timing(don't want to have to buy it just for that, too) but with no luck. In order to do that I just have to connect it to a test plug by the distributor, and also connect it to the battery(if I had one).
