Hello all, new here. I get 48 mpg no matter how i drive. I was a believer in the advertisements and epa yang and actually thought I would get 60 mpg.
I had my driver's side mirror broken and the cover, as well, and I would like anyone who has changed the mirror to please chime in with advice. Is it just the glass, or the black plastic that needs changing too. Also, where is the best place to get replacement mirror and cover. Forget the dealers, they are absurd in their prices.
It is a good, quality car, but I would not have bought it had I known actual fuel mileage was 20 % less than advertised.
Thanks ahead of time for any advice you can offer. Best, jcmuley.

How epa tests mileage changed drastically for 2008 - you can get that info on the web. EPA printed 45-48 / 46 overall on my window sticker (2008 Touring), and I'm right on the money. Over my last couple tank-fuls I've gotten 48, but on a 30 minute Sunday afternoon putter thru the country my bar-graph showed 60 & up. The worst I've gotten on a tank is 43. There are so many factors that change mpg drastically, it's hard to pin it down - but your 48 is outstanding - Find any other car the size of a Prius out there that can do that!
