I've yet see to many people that I know who bought lexus that care about the mileage. I will agree status symbol seems the be one of the main reasons.


My point exactly. Even those who say they do, and buy a hybris, usually have gas guzzler in the garage.

Isn't it the truth!

I wonder if it is ego that causes that or a certain distrust of hybrid technology. I only know of one couple who totally rely on hybrids ....they've got two ...a Lexus and a Prius. But they've got major bucks too and are ultimate greenies.

Some people know matter what you tell them will never trust a hybrid. You can tell them all the great things they can do and the money they can save and they will still buy their gas guzzler. People don't like change.
