I am looking at buying two new vehicles; possible a lexus and a minivan (I know, what a combination, right?). Anyways, I have three children in car seats, and was wondering what minivan is the best and most roomy? I don't need all features but need alot of space and comfort! Any suggestions would be great!

What a great question! I'm searching for something for numerous car seats too. I was hoping for a truck, but I don't think it's gonna happen, now I just want something safe. Is a roll cage an option? Just kidding....

I know explorers have a third back seat (if purchased that way), but I am having a hard time finding an SUV to fit three car seats.

I always said I would never buy a minivan, until I sat in one. When it comes to kids, especially those in car seats, you CAN'T beat a minivan! Get the DVD option as well, and you'll be A OK

The new Jeep Commander has an optional third seat and it's certainly long enough to be a decent sized one. Not sure how I feel about the boxiness of the vehicle but I'm seeing a lot of them on the road around here.

Thanks Vicki...I really was looking for something other than a minivan and love jeeps...I have seen them on the road, but was not sure if there was a third seat or not...will have to check this out. My lexus dream is on hold, now, because even the new ones are quite expensive!

The Commander is boxy but it's big ....kind of like the old Suburbans used to be. I had one of those and I loved it! With the back seats folded down it would hold a 4'x8' sheet of plywood ...flat!

I can fit one of them in my minivan too! lol. when I moved from my apartment, I had a full size mattress laying flat in it, with the rest of my kid's captain's bed on top.

The only thing or reason why I would go with a minivan over the commando is because I think the van may be a little smaller. I am nervous about driving a van, and probably would be more intimidated by the commando.

I don't mind big trucks and the Commando isn't so huge compared to a minivan. Besides, I sort of have a phobia about being seen in a mini van lol. It's just one of those things with me!

Isn't going "Commando" mean one doesn't wear underwear ?

I LOVE my minivan... It's great for kids and all their stuff, love the third row seat, and it gets better gas mileage than an SUV. Love it, love it, love it!

Same here, I've been looking at some mini vans, and they are just too hard to ignore.

If you have 3 kids to tote around...fine. But I don't understand the rationale of people with no kids wanting to pay the fuel price!

I'm waiting for the Aygo!

Well, I can't tell you a good vehicle but I can tell you one not to get. We bought a Dodge Durango thinking it would be perfect but as it turned out, it isn't. Three carseats are awful. I recommend a large suv like an expedition or else a minivan.

I used to have a Plymouth Voyager. It was pretty sturdy, but a bear to try to work on.
